Insurance: Ivass creates the Ethics Committee

IVASS has set up the Ethics Committee with the aim of making the application of the Codes of Ethics more efficient. This was communicated by the Insurance Supervisory Institute, specifying that the codes are inspired by the following principles:

  • preserve the independence and impartiality of the conduct of those who work for the Institute;
  • avoid situations of conflict of interest, even after the termination of the employment relationship or the interruption of the assignment at IVASS;
  • protect the confidentiality of the information processed.

The Committee will also issue opinions on specific cases that may be brought to its attention.

The chairmanship of the Committee is Cesare Mirabelli, president emeritus of the Constitutional Court. The other two members are Marco D'Alberti, professor of administrative law at the University of Rome "La Sapienza", and Giusella Dolores Finocchiaro, professor of private law and Internet law at the University of Bologna.

The Committee has already started its activity.
