howden lands in the entertainment sector: buy the broker Assimovie. The English group, one of the global giants of insurance brokerage, has announced the agreement for the acquisition of the broker in the television, film and advertising sector, Assimovie. This is the broker set up in Rome by Valeria and Camilla Guglielmotti at the beginning of 2013, specializing in insurance for film production deriving from both wholesale brokerage and direct business.
For the London group it is the sixth operation closed in Italy in just under two years. The broker, founded by David Howden who is managing director and 35% owned by employees (over 9 globally) landed in Italy a year and a half ago with the establishment of Howden Italia.
The first agreement with the broker Scagliarini of Bologna dates back to July 2021, followed by those with Tower spa of Vicenza (December 2021), with Asi Insurance Brokers of Treviso (February 2022) and with Nord Est Insurance Broker, also of Treviso, ( April 2022). Last May 2022, Assiteca, the largest Italian insurance brokerage company which was listed on Piazza Affari and on which Howden launched a takeover bid (with a total valuation of around 240 million), also joined the Italian branch. All acquisitions that have allowed Howden to create a turnover more than 100 million euros in our country.
With Assimovie the group is now entering a market niche, the one linked toentertainmentvery lucrative.
