Insurance, here is the new contract: an increase of 103 euros per month

Also arriving 1.100 euros in arrears and some important changes in terms of protection, especially for call center operators - Garibotti (FIRST-Cisl): "Very positive agreement from a social point of view"

After 20 months of negotiations and more than three years after the deadline, an agreement was reached on the renewal of the ANIA contract for about 48 workers in the insurance sector. The negotiation ended with an increase in payroll of 103 euros per month when fully operational, the payment of 1.100 euros of arrears and some important innovations in terms of protection. The agreement with the National Association of Insurance Companies was signed by the trade unions First-Cisl, Fisac, Cgil, Fna, Snfia and Uilca.

“It is a very positive agreement, especially from a social point of view – explains to FIRSTonline Roberto Garibotti, national secretary of FIRST-Cisl – For the first time included in the Ania contract all workers who were outside the production chain, i.e. employees of assistance company and companies that carry out contract work on behalf of the insurance companies, while the operators of the insurance call centers, who were in a disadvantaged economic situation, are finally treated as administrators”.

Another innovation regards the protections for the workers of the bankrupt companies. “3% of the annual hirings of the entire insurance sector – continues Garibotti – is reserved for workers who come from companies going into liquidation, even if obviously we hope there are none”.

As for the increase of 103 euros, it concerns "the fourth level of the seventh class and the 1.100 euros of arrears will be paid between March and April”, concludes the national secretary of FIRST-Cisl.

The new contract is "an excellent result in terms of fair distribution of wages and employment protection, at the conclusion of a very long negotiation - comments Giulio Romani, general secretary of First Cisl - Now the sector concentrates on finding solutions for its many contradictions, which also emerged during this difficult negotiation. The complex articulation of the insurance world, with primary companies outside the Ania and other members of the association but not interested in the application of the contract, combined with the rapid evolution of ownership relationships, constitutes a further solicitation towards the need to act on the negotiating levels to redesign, within the entire financial system, instruments of protection and representation that overcome the barriers of the sector and make it possible to make the most of the employment opportunities that may derive from the synergy of the various contractual experiences".
