A complete coverage which, as the name of the package suggests, refers to all snow sports and not just skiing: also skating, snowboarding, sledging, cross-country skiing and snowshoeing, which surprisingly are the second favorite activity of Italians in the mountains, after downhill skiing and in front of the snowboard. A cover that has never been seen before because at the time of purchasing the ski pass, usually, there are no insurance policies or, where envisaged, they do not cover the entire range of possible risks. Which are not few, considering that every year 620 Italians are injured in ski resorts in the winter months: 15,5% of practitioners, with an incidence of 21 injuries for every 1.000 practitioners for every single day on the snow. Overall, Italians spend around 28 million days in the snow per season, an average of 7 days for each person (the classic white week). “We have already received 2,1 million requests for online quotes,” he explained at the conference Andrea Galbiati, Head of Insurance at Banca IFIS. “Not all of them will turn into policies, but it is a sign of strong demand. The coverage – added Galbiati – is valid for the whole European area, even if only for Italian citizens”.
The initiative has been finalized in partnership with Pool Sci Italia, the consortium founded in the early 70s and which today has 9 companies, which supply all the materials related to skiing (from skis to boots, from overalls to goggles) to the Italian alpine ski national team: rendimax insurance also participates at “Prove Libere Tour 2018/19”, the ski test tour organized by Pool Sci Italia under the patronage of the Italian Winter Sports Federation (FISI) to test the best new products on the ski market on the slopes.
