Confindustria Assembly, Passera to entrepreneurs: "The country expects a lot from you"

The government's commitmenteverything is there for an additional effort, but the country also expects a lot from you, because well-being comes from businesses“. This is the appeal to entrepreneurs by the Minister of Economic Development, Corrado Passera, speaking today at the Confindustria assembly.

"The main objective now is to get growth back on track and create employment. Rigor and growth are always to be kept together. The first is a tool and the second is an end”.

"The growth agenda we are working on touches all the points", continued the minister, adding that on the tax front "tangible and positive things will certainly be done". This is Passera's response to the controversy opened by the new president of the industrialists, Giorgio Squinzi, who in the opening speechhe of the assembly had spoken of the Italian taxman as an "unbearable ballast".

"It is true in Italy there is tax evasion but there are many who pay and pay too much because many do not pay taxes – the minister said – it is true that Italy grows too little on average but there are those who grow a lot, despite the moments of difficulty and also with the strong euro”.

Passera, concluding his speech, underlined that the “commissariat would have removed Italy from the list of countries that can fight for it. And we can play it. We are only six months of work, of course there must be an additional commitment as President Squinzi also requested and there is a commitment to an additional effort, I assure you, but the country - said Passera - also expects a lot from you".
