Family allowances 2017: 800 euros for each newborn, who can have them and how

800 euros to families who give birth to a child. This is the amount of the bonus envisaged by the 2017 Budget law through which, after the failure of the fertility day promoted by the Ministry of Health, the Government decides to intervene by establishing, starting from 1 January, a "bonus", of a permanent nature, intended for those who decide to bring a child into the world.

The 800 euros will be disbursed by INPS in a single solution, by check, upon request by the new mother, which must be presented when she is seven months pregnant or when the child is adopted.

Based on estimates made by the executive, the birth bonus will concern an audience of beneficiaries corresponding to 490 couples.

It should be emphasized that the aforementioned Bonus is not the only measure envisaged by the Maneuver in favor of families. The same law also establishes the voucher of 1.000 euros per year valid for enrollment in public or private nursery schools, or for the introduction of forms of home support for children under the age of three suffering from serious chronic pathologies. The ticket will be intended for children born in 2016, upon request to INPS by parents who must also send documentation certifying enrollment in the nursery and payment of fees.

In this case the voucher will be divided into 11 months and cannot be combined with the deduction from the tax of expenses incurred for nursery schools for Irpef purposes nor with baby-sitting vouchers and nursery schools.

Speaking of the latter, the measure was also confirmed for 2017 and 2018. Working mothers who return to work after maternity leave without taking parental leave will receive a check of 600 euros per month for a maximum of six months. The vouchers can be used to pay the costs of the public network of childcare services or accredited private services, or to purchase baby-sitting services.

Finally, the budget law establishes a Fund to support the birth rate within which 14 million have been allocated for 2017, 24 million for 2018, 23 million for 2019, 13 million for 2020 and 6 million starting from 2021. The aforementioned resources will be used to facilitate access to credit of families with children born or adopted, starting from 1 January 2017, through the issue of direct guarantees, including guarantees, to banks and financial intermediaries.
