The second edition of the international online lottery "1 Picasso for 100 euros" features the 1921 Still Life painting by Pablo Picasso, an oil on canvas valued by experts at 1 million euros.

The initiative is organized to guarantee access to water to more than 200 people in Africa by financing a project of the NGO CARE.

The draw has been postponed to 30 March 2020 in agreement with the Paris Police Prefecture with the aim of raising the maximum amount of funds for a project of the NGO CARE, a non-profit association of international solidarity founded in 1945 and present in 100 countries around the world. 

The proceeds are intended to allow access to water and sanitation for 200 people in Cameroon, Madagascar and in the poorest areas of the Morocco.

To participate in the lottery and try to win the precious painting, simply purchase on the website www.1picasso100euros.com un ticket at the price of 100 euros and wait for the date of official draw: Monday 30 March 2020 at 18pm. There are a limited maximum total of 200 thousand tickets on sale. Meanwhile, the framework which is 22,9" x 45,7" in size, signed and dated on the front, it will remain on display at the Picasso Museum in Paris.

The drawing of the winning ticket will take place in Paris at Christie's (9 avenue Matignon). It will also be possible to follow the extraction in online streaming.

The last edition of «1 Picasso for 100 euros» took place in 2013 and was won by Jeffrey Gonano, a 25-year-old American from Wexford (Pennsylvania, USA), employed in a fire-fighting system company, which was awarded L'Homme au Gibus, a watercolor on paper by Picasso from 1914.

The funds raised during the first edition, for a total of 4,8 million euros, were donated to the International Association for the Safeguard of Shooting and used to build an artisan village on the outskirts of Tyre, an ancient city in southern Lebanon and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

«1 Picasso for 100 euros» is an international online charity lottery that aims to raise funds for humanitarian development projects carried out by selected non-profit associations around the world. The competition will take place annually, always choosing new projects by and offering a new work of art by Picasso, always in partnership with the Picasso Succession and the Picasso Administration.

The lottery, now in its second edition, was conceived and organized by Péri Cochin, TV presenter and producer. The lottery allows you to win a Picasso painting by purchasing a lottery ticket for 100 euros, creating a strong link between art and philanthropy.

200 tickets have been put up for sale, the painting up for grabs is the 1921 work Natura Morta by Pablo Picasso with two certificates of authenticity (signed by Maya Widmaier-Picasso and Claude Ruiz-Picasso) and now exhibited at the Picasso Museum in Paris . The painting will be purchased from the private collection of David Nahmad, considered the greatest Picasso collector in the world.
