Art and Collectibles in Rome: the market exhibition at Palazzo Brancaccio closes with 10 thousand visitors

Great success with visitors for the market exhibition hosted from 27 September to 2 October in the prestigious Palazzo Brancaccio in Rome. Beyond expectations for the number of visitors who came from all over Italy and the world, given the quality of the works on display. But also a real sales success – according to indications – equal to a turnover of several million euros.

A return to antiques? Growing interest especially in historicized and collectible works

The exhibition aimed to return to the Capital a space of high artistic importance and to build a permanent event, an absolute point of reference for scholars and collectors, offering the country an exhibition of a level comparable to the exhibitions of ancient art set up in the major European capitals. 46 Art Galleries offered beauty among the most important in all of Italy - in the lead Rome, then Milan, Florence, Bologna and Naples, but also from London and New York.

Ancient art and more…

The exhibition spanned the entire history of art, from sculptures of the classical age to Gothic and Renaissance art, from Baroque to modern and contemporary art, with a focus on artists from the capital from the post-war period to the XNUMXs.

Among the works sold we find: two paintings by Giovanni Boldini and two by Cagnaccio di San Pietro, two by Giulio Aristide Sartorio, a tapestry by Alighiero Boetti, sculptures by Adolfo Wildt and Arturo Martini, but also a Roman marble head, an imposing column by Mirko Basaldella, but also a micromosaic depicting the Rape of Europa and ceramics by Gio Ponti.

The president of the Italian Antique Dealers Association, Bruno Botticelli, he has declared: "The new exhibition-market in Rome proved to be a great success with the public and sales. Institutions, private visitors, Italian and foreign collectors have expressed their enthusiasm for being able to live a new experience in the capital, within a space of high artistic prestige. These days have confirmed the need to build a permanent event, doubling the antique dealers' fair offer in Italy. The event was in fact an incredible moment of discussion between antique dealers and collectors, but also of meeting with the general public, to keep alive a fundamental relationship for the country's culture. It is no coincidence that Italy is a destination for international tourism which is rapidly transforming into a primary economic resource for the entire Italian system. The date is now set for 2025 with many new ideas.”
