Scipio arrives, the wind that brings the heat from Africa: Thursday will be the peak

Until a few months ago we complained about the cold. Now we will start with the heat. This time it's not just any heat, but Scipio, the African anticyclone which, directed from the Sahara to the Mediterranean, will raise temperatures even up to 40 degreesthe. Today 35 degrees were recorded in the centre-south, 32 degrees were reached in the north, but very sultry, and peaks of 34 degrees were suffered in the earthquake-stricken Emilia. And precisely in Emilia Romagna and in the central areas the heat wave will be more intense and lasting.

Already tomorrow four cities in Italy will suffer a level 2 heat. According to the evaluation of the Ministry of Health, it means that the weather conditions can represent a "health risk". Alarm therefore a Rome, Latina, Frosinone and Bolzano.

I tips to protect yourself from heat waves have not changed: avoid direct exposure to the sun and intense physical activity outdoors during the hottest hours of the day, from 11.00 to 16.00; wear light clothing, use hats and sunglasses; finally, drink a lot and eat lightly, preferring fruit and vegetables.

Scipio will blow his warm wind until at least Saturday the 23rd. Thursday will be the hottest day, with peaks of 40 degrees in Abruzzo, Puglia and Sicily. In the earthquake-hit areas of Emilia Romagna the temperature could reach 36 degrees.
