Ariston Thermo buys the Dutch Atag Heating

Ariston Thermo, a water and space heating company, has acquired Atag Heating, a Dutch company of the Benelux group that produces condensing boilers. The Marche-based group aims at national and international development oriented towards both established and developing markets.

Ariston Thermo has successfully closed the acquisition of the Dutch Atag Heating, a company of the Benelux group active in the production of condensing boilers. “Through this acquisition we continue to follow our development strategy based on growth for internal and external lines, both in mature markets and in rapidly developing markets”, commented Paolo Merloni, president of Ariston Thermo. 

“Atag will bring significant benefits to our Group – he added -, a solid technological platform for state-of-the-art condensing products based on high efficiency, low emissions and cost competitiveness, as well as a strong presence in some key markets and most importantly, a team of enterprising and highly motivated managers”. 

In 2013, Atag recorded a turnover of 53 million euros, with an adjusted Ebitda of 8.4 million. The company is based in Lichtenvoorde and has 170 employees.

Ariston Thermo, however, in 2013 recorded a turnover of 1,335 billion, with sales of 7,2 million products in over 150 countries. Lastly, the Fabriano-based company has 6.600 employees, 45 companies and 7 representative offices in 31 countries.
