A space constantly open to all citizens, to train the public on the culture of risk protection. It is the latest initiative by Intesa Sanpaolo, which through its insurance company Intesa Sanpaolo Assicura has opened Area X in Turin, an innovative space where you can experience driving and living situations through virtual reality simulations and better understand the possible dangers. The Italians, as is known, do not have a great insurance predisposition, but through this initiative they will be able to increase their awareness even while having fun and playing: participation in the Area X experience takes place upon registration on the site and it becomes a real competition, during which visitors will compete against each other in experimenting with practical situations, complete with scores and rankings.

“The need for protection is part of the daily life of each of us – he commented during the presentation Nicola Maria Fioravanti, head of the Insurance division of Intesa Sanpaolo -, for this reason our group has for some time directed its action towards the insurance needs of households and businesses, which intend to adequately protect health and assets”. Even if the simulations are also dedicated to driving situations, the objective of Intesa Sanpaolo Assicura is focused precisely on the Non-Auto, as evidenced by the company's latest investments and the strategies expressed in the 2018-2021 business plan: the premiums from the Protection business in fact grew by 26,2% to 313 million in the first half of 2019, and in particular the Home and Health products increased by 124,3%.

“What matters most to us – added Fioravanti – is the Non-Auto part, which is underinsured. It is here that we want to invest: Area X is not a branch, policies are not sold, it is only about disseminating culture”. A space to learn risk protection by playing and not getting scared, but how does it work technically? The reservation must be made on the site, it is as mentioned free and the duration of the experience is approximately one hour. Area X is located in the center of Turin, in via Francesco d'Assisi (a 10-minute walk from Porta Susa station), in an area of ​​350 square meters equipped with virtual and augmented reality technologies HTC Vive, Oculus Pro, Oculus Rift 2, Touch Monitor, LED Tiles & Holofun. There are 3 15D environments, with more than 700 hours of 3D rendering. The situations envisaged are the most disparate, from the more classic ones related to the car and the home, up to, for example, insurable risks for travel and holidays.
