The immersive experience allows you to visit one of the most important masterpieces of Roman art.

In the year 9 BC, the emperor Augustus wanted to celebrate the moment of peace and prosperity achieved with the Pax Romana, that period in the history of the Empire in which Rome lived in peace without undergoing major civil wars or serious invasions. It was for this that Augustus promoted the construction of the Ara Pacis, originally located in an area of the Campo Marzio consecrated to the celebration of victories, an allegorical place because it is located one Roman mile, equal to 1.472 m from the pomerium, the limit of the city where the consul returning from a military expedition lost the powers relating to it and reverted to its civil powers. Today, the altar is located on the Lungotevere in Augusta in Rome and has become one of its symbolic places.

Between 3D reconstructions and computer graphics, virtual and augmented reality, visitors are immersed in a 360° environment in which they can admire the Ara Pacis with its original colors and the Campo Marzio. The project was promoted by Roma Capitale, Department of Cultural Growth - Capitoline Superintendency for Cultural Heritage and organized by Zètema Progetto Cultura, and was entrusted to ETT SpA.

Coordination, scientific direction, texts and screenplay are by the Capitoline Superintendency for Cultural Heritage. The narration is entrusted to the voices of Luca Ward and Manuela Mandracchia.
