To ensure the correct execution of the tender operations and prevent attempts at criminal infiltration. This is the objective of the protocol of the so-called "collaborative supervision" that theAnac, at the request of That, has activated for the tender procedure relating to the design and construction works of the "New upper section Peschiera aqueduct, from the sources to the Salisano power plant". This project includes a investment of approximately 1,5 billion euros.
Yesterday afternoon, the president of Anac, Giuseppe Busia, the CEO of Acea, Fabrizio Palermo, and the president of Acea Ato 2, Claudius Cosentino, gathered to sign an agreement that promises to be a real “shield” against corruption. Hosting the event were John Salvi, consultant of the Roman multiutility for legality and the fight against criminal infiltration, former Attorney General at the Court of Cassation.
The details of the agreement
The agreement has as its main objective to regulate an activity of preventive collaborative surveillance, aimed at ensuring that tender documents comply with current regulations and identifying clauses and conditions to prevent possible criminal infiltration. In a context where corruption is a persistent problem in public works, this initiative is proposed as a necessary control measure.
The agreement is part of the "National Framework Protocol” signed in July 2023 by Acea and the Ministry of the Interior. This agreement aims to strengthen cooperation in the field of public safety, especially in view of the commitment of the Roman group in the construction of important infrastructure works in the coming years. Among these, the new upper section of the Peschiera aqueduct, which involves the construction of a line of about 27 km, parallel to the section already active for over 80 years. The start of the works is scheduled for 2025.
