Apple-Samsung, endless patent war

Apple-Samsung, endless patent war

Difficult to speak, in this case, of "singular duel". Here the ax is always unearthed and the battle continues unabated. The real and eternal cold war between East and West travels between California and South Korea and sees Apple and Samsung constantly challenge each other in an endless struggle.

After the first battle, which ended with the defeat of the Koreans, who were awarded a heavy fine, a new trial begins this week in the San Francisco court. And the judge is always the same.

Once again, the two groups are accusing each other of patent infringement. And they bring to the table a number of recent models of smartphones and tablets, including the famous iPhone 5 and Samsung Galaxy S3, both released in 2012.
Samsung accuses Apple of infringing on two of its patents. Apple is seeking over $2 billion in damages, claiming Koreans sold more than 37 million tablets in the US in violation of 5 of its patents.

Furthermore, the Cupertino company demands about 33 dollars for each offending phone sold and up to 40 dollars for some models.

The patents defended by Apple concern the techniques of unlocking the touch screen, of automatic correction of words, of accessing the data sought by the user and the use of this data, such as for example starting a call once a telephone number has been found .
