Apple in the Dow Jones Industrial: it is among the 30 blue chips

Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), is preparing to join the Dow Jones Industrial Average replacing AT&T. The change will be effective at the end of the session on 18 March next. The arrival of the iPhone maker – the group with the largest capitalization in the world – in theindex of 30 blue chips it was announced by S&P Dow Jones Indices, the division of McGraw Hill Financial that owns the Dow.

This is the index's first retooling since September 23, 2013, when Goldman Sachs replaced Bank of America Corp, Nike replaced Alcoa, and Visa replaced Hewlett-Packard.
