Trenitalia app, here are new features and services

Also on sale are Intercity night tickets and international trains, the possibility of retrieving the travel ticket offline - The Trenitalia app is renewed.

The new version of the Trenitalia app with more functions and services available for customers can be downloaded from the Apple and Google stores. Meanwhile, the downloads of the application have reached 2,7 million and in one year the tickets sold via the app have doubled.

In the release, a series of features have been developed that aim to improve the customer experience, including:

  •  completion of the range of salable products, including Intercity Notte and international trains;
  •  off-line travel management, i.e. the possibility of recovering the ticket even in the absence of an Internet connection;
  •  the completion of salable offers, including those that require the entry of codes and credentials;
  •  the possibility of using the Apple Wallet, the ticket management service for Apple customers.

These services are added to those already available, such as the possibility of viewing the train timetable, buying both single journey tickets, even without registration, and season tickets, requesting rebookings and refunds, checking the balance of CartaFRECCIA points and especially personalized smart caring for regional transport.

The real-time infopush service is now active in the Emilia-Romagna, Lazio, Tuscany, Liguria, Veneto and Piedmont regions, which allows you to receive real-time information on the progress of the train and the line on which you have chosen to be informed. Additional features, such as billing and the seatmap, are expected later this year.

The application has over 2,7 million downloads and in the first nine months of 2017 recorded a 101,5% increase in tickets sold compared to 2016. An increase which, in the regional transport sector alone, is close to +150 %.
