Antonveneta: the judges of Milan, "Fazio did not stop Fiorani"

Antonio Fazio, former governor of Bank of Italy, "caused a deep laceration in one of the country's top institutions". This is what can be read in the 200-page motivations with which the judges of the Court of Milan explain the 4-year prison sentence, dating back to last May, inflicted on the former number one of Palazzo Koch for insider trading in relation to the Antonveneta case.

“Fazio – underlined the Court – went far beyond the reserve that should have accompanied his institutional function to transform himself into a friend who, sharing the anxiety of the recipient of such an important decision, immediately reassured him of the success achieved”. Overall, according to the judges, "Fazio was determined not to stop Fiorani".
