Antivirus Made in Italy: Tim and Telsy launch new software to strengthen computer security

A new system is coming 100% Made in Italy antivirus. Tim has officially launched on the market with Telsy, the Group company specialized in cybersecurity and cryptography, a new and completely Italian advanced antivirus system. The product, also intended for the public administration, was designed, developed and managed in Italy, as underlined by the claim chosen by the companies for its introduction on the market. This is a new Endpoint Protection system that guarantees anti-virus, anti-malware, anti-spyware and anti-ransomware functions. This system will be operational as early as May.

The word of the year is “diversification”. We are therefore not only talking about gas and raw materials, but also diversifying IT service providers to achieve greater independence from Moscow and in this case avoid excessive exposure to the cyber risk. In light of the conflict in Ukraine, the Draghi government has decided to replace the Russian cyber giant, Kaspersky, by public administrations and its companies, to strengthen the IT security of our country. A product used by over 2200 public bodies, including Viminale, Farnesina and the Ministry of Defense for almost 20 years (Kaspersky has been on the public administration market since 2003). The measure is contained in a specific article of the so-called "Ukraine decree".

In a delicate historical period like the one we are experiencing, it was inevitable that a company linked to a topic such as computer security would get in the way. The fear of the West is that there may be some collaboration between the Russian IT giant and the Kremlin, even if for the moment it remains a private company in no way linked to Moscow but has nevertheless preferred to act in advance. The launch of the Tim group could therefore be an alternative for a 100% Made in Italy antivirus.

Meanwhile in May, the director of the national cybersecurity agency announced, Roberto Baldoni, in an interview with Adnkronos, the Italian Cybersecurity Strategy will be published. An 86-point document that will outline an all-round road map from Cloud to the network 5G.
