Antitrust: Roberto Rustichelli is the new president

The Antitrust has a new president: it is Roberto Rustichelli, appointed Thursday by the presidents of the Senate, Elisabetta Casellati, and of the Chamber, Roberto Fico.

Ordinary magistrate of the Court of Naples, Rustichelli was selected from 112 candidates (89% men) according to a "new method of transparency", explained Casellati during a meeting with the press at Palazzo Madama, based on the "three requirements of impartiality , according to the parameters of political independence and in relation to professional activity, technical competence and institutional experience”.

The appointment, the two presidents assured, was decided in "absolute harmony". Fico pointed out: "We don't have the pleasure of knowing him personally", announcing a forthcoming meeting now of an institutional nature.

Graduated in Law and Economic and Management Sciences, Rustichelli entered the judiciary in 1992. After having carried out judicial functions in Lagonegro and Ravella, he was legal adviser to the Prime Minister and deputy head of cabinet of the Minister of Productive Activities.

He has been a member of various ministerial commissions for the elaboration of proposals for regulatory changes in the field of economy and business (in particular the commissions for the preparation of the Code of the internationalization of companies and for the preparation of the Regulation on the Anti-Corruption High Commissioner).

From 2013 to today he has been president of the board of the Naples Business Court. He has also carried out teaching activities, including at university, in the field of commercial law, business law and tax law.
