Antitrust: fines to Ryanair, Alitalia and 3 other companies for online ticket prices

THEAntitrust closed five cases against Alitalia, Easyjet, Wizzair, Blue Panorama and Ryanair. Airlines have been fined for not having included in the first indication of the ticket price the commission applied to payments by credit card

The Authority had already defined this shortcoming as an "unfair commercial practice" and today resolved that by XNUMX December all companies active in Italy must include the cost of payments in commercial communications and in online ticket reservation and purchase systems. In this way it will be immediately clear "the total disbursement required of consumers for the service offered", explains the Antitrust in a note.

The five airlines join Air Italy, Germanwings, Lufthansa Italia and Air Berlin which, after similar measures by the Authority, had already changed their behavior in this sense. Alitalia and Easyjet received a fine of 20 euros, Blue Panorama Airlines 12 euros, while Ryanair will have to pay 500 and Wizzair 52.500 euros.
