Antitrust: maxi-fine to Easyjet

Easyjet will have to pay a fine of 170 thousand euros for having advertised a promotion on its website in a non-transparent way. This was decided by the Antitrust, which in a note released today explains how the British low-cost company promised "particularly advantageous prices without making the actual conditions and limitations of the offer adequately clear to the consumer".

In particular, “the conditions offered on the company's website for a one-way flight would only be available for a journey made by two passengers – writes the Authority -. In the case of a single booking, on the other hand, the final rate would be higher than the advertised one".

Lastly, according to the Antitrust, the information provided by Easyjet at the time of booking "would be insufficient to make the passenger aware of the limitation to which the offer is subject".
