Ansaldo Sts bucking the trend on the Ftse Mib: +3,2% pending a possible sale to the Americans

The Finmeccanica subsidiary Ansaldo Sts moves against the trend compared to a negative Ftse Mib and gains more than 3% - The prospects of a possible sale to Ge Transportation could support the purchases after press rumors in recent days have indicated contacts between the managers of the two companies

While the Ftse Mib lost 0,5%, Ansaldo Sts moved in sharp contrast and recorded an increase of approximately 3,26% to 7,125 euro. Among sustained purchases, the stock reached an intraday high of 7,23 euros on the highs of last August 16th. The company has long been under the spotlight of the market due to the possibility of its sale by the parent company Finmeccanica (more prudent at +0,18%). The title could be supported by the interest of Ge Transportation with which contacts have already been made. In recent days, an article in Il Messaggero reported on a trip by the CEO of Ansaldo Sts Sergio De Luca to the United States to negotiate with GE Transportation the possible sale to the transport branch of the American industrial giant of Ansaldo Sts and Ansaldo Breda (which Finmeccanica would like to sell in full while Ge Transportation would be interested only in the metro branch). However, it is possible that the dossier will be resumed in October when Russel Strokes takes office, succeeding Lorenzo Simonelli at the helm of Ge Transportation.
