The Japanese group Hitachi is close to buying the companies in the transportation division of Finmeccanica. The Japanese newspaper writes it 'nikkei' specifying that Hitachi is "in the final phase of adjusting the offer" which, according to anonymous sources cited by the newspaper, should be presented between this week and the beginning of next.
The purchase transaction amount of Ansaldo Sts e Ansaldo Breda, writes Nikkei, should be about 200 billion yen (1,4 billion euros). Several foreign groups were initially interested in all or part of the two companies, but in the end Hitachi and the Chinese of Cnr remained in the running. According to the Nikkei, the Chinese group would have withdrawn before presenting the binding offer, leaving the Japanese alone.
