From Germany comes a breath of fresh air for Ansaldo Sts. The Italian holding active in the railway and underground transport sector won a contract worth 13,79 million through its subsidiary Ansaldo Deutscheland, for a value of 13,79 million euros. On behalf of the German Railways (Deutsche Bahn AG), the Finmeccanica company will install its level 2 Ertms/Etcs signaling systems along the Rostock-Berlin section.

“This railway line – reads a note from the company – joins one of the major ports in Germany, to the priority axis/project Berlin –Verona/Milan–Bologna – Naples –Messina-Palermo, forming part of the trans-European transport networks TEN-T (Trans-European Networks – Transport). This is the first project signed under the ETCS level 2 framework contract signed between Ansaldo STS Deutschland and Deutsche Bahn AG in 2011 and the second major contract awarded to Ansaldo by Deutsche Bahn AG, which owns the most extensive railway network in Europe”.
