Ansaldo Energia to the Koreans, but the go-ahead from the government is missing

The company is 55% controlled by Finmeccanica and 45% by the US fund First Reserve Corporation – Doosan's South Koreans are close to a preliminary agreement for the acquisition, but first we need the go-ahead from the government, which they would prefer to keep Ansaldo Energia in Italian hands – Enterprise value of 1,2 – 1,4 billion euro

There is no agreement at the moment. Ansaldo Energia remains, it is not known for how long, in the hands of Finmeccanica (55%) and the US fund First Reserve Corporation (45%). The trip to South Korea, in the direction of Doosan, is postponed due to the lack of political approval for the operation. Press rumors had already made a preliminary agreement between Finmeccanica and the South Koreans of Doosan - who have long been interested in the deal - for the sale of the energy company

The transfer of Ansaldo Energia to Doosan should take place on the basis of an enterprise value of 1,2-1,4 billion euro.

The last word belongs to the Government, which has not yet taken a definitive decision and which is still rooting for an Italian solution for the control of civil assets that Finmeccanica wants to sell to reduce debt.

On Saturday, the Minister of Economic Development Flavio Zanonato, in a meeting in Genoa, had reiterated to the unions his opposition to the sale of the assets in question, opening up the possibility of a so-called Finmeccanica 2 with national control.

In the mid-afternoon, the Finmeccanica stock, which was gaining 1,4% before the news, rises by almost 4% to 4,054,
after having reached a maximum of 4,19 euros and having been in a volatility auction due to an excess of upside. Ansaldo, with a fluctuating trend, at 16.30 lost 0,23% to 6,595.
