Ansaldo: 40 million euro contract in Korea for high-speed railway line

Ansaldo Sts, a Finmeccanica Group company, has won a 40 million euro contract in South Korea for the maintenance of the high-speed railway line that will connect Onsong with Gwangju Songjeong.

Ansaldo Sts has won a contract worth around 40 million euros in Korea. The Finmeccanica Group company was selected, within the framework of the consortium led by Lsis, by the Krna railway body (Korea Rail Network Authority) as "supplier of the railway traffic control system for the high-speed section of Honam, which connects Onsong with Gwangju Songjeong, and which will be completed in June 2014”.

Ansaldo STS will also have the task of "carrying out the design of the ATC and Ixl systems, the supply of equipment, testing, commissioning and safety certification, personnel training and the supply of maintenance equipment".

The supply includes “the Sei system (Integrated Train Control System) with TVM, Ns1 Vital relays and Hot Box Detectors to equip the 174 km of the new railway line, on which they will travel at speeds of up to 300 km/h”.
