Anie (Confindustria), poison battle for the presidency

Maretta, indeed earthquake at theAnie, the powerful federation of Confindustria that brings together the sectors electrical engineers ed electronic (1.500 industries, for an aggregate of 84 billion euros in 2019, 30% of total R&D expenditure in the country). The Anie was so to speak commissioned by Confindustria. Subject of the heavy decision recently taken in great confidentiality by the arbitrators of the Italian industrial summit, the disputed affair connected to the appointment of the new president of Anie, which should have been Andrew Maspero (Maspero Elevatori) instead of Giuliano Busetto (Siemens Italia) in office since 2016.

As happens systematically in every election to positions of such significant political and economic weight, within the Anie there were moves adverse currents to this succession, probably connected to senior officials, a movement culminating in a self-candidacy of Federica Guidi, former Minister for Economic Development of the Renzi government, arrived however Out of time and, therefore, inadmissible in the judgment of the arbitrators. Bypassing Anie, Guidi has asked for the intervention of Confindustria, which led to the deadlock of procedures and the blocking of Maspero's appointment as president. Guidi, who was minister of economic development in the Renzi government and who was forced to resign due to an adverse campaign that proved to be unfounded, does not however seem willing to give up.

It's not the first time that Anie finds itself involved in heavy controversies: the most serious concerns the sector that for decades has been its spearhead, that of household appliances with world records, which twice had found itself at odds with the high internal bureaucrats and with the leaders of other sectors, officially leaving the Federation twice, the last of which, like Applia, in 2020, and returning definitively to Confindustria.
