Amundi and Pioneer, merger in asset management

On Christmas Eve, the deed giving way to the merger by incorporation of Pioneer into the French giant Amundi was filed, which last year had purchased the Italian savings company managed by Unicredit – Amundi Italia was born under the leadership of Cinzia Tagliabue.

A little over a year after the purchase from Unicredit, the integration between Amundi e Pioneer. According to Milano Finanza, the deed of merger of the two asset management companies was filed, which will give life to Amundi Italia, the new entity led by the managing director Cinzia Tagliabue, with which the French giant will preside over the Italian market.

In detail, Pioneer Investment Management was merged by incorporation into Amundi sgr, which increased the capital by 52,5 million euro through the issuance of 276 million shares.

The new shares were attributed to the sole shareholder of Pioneer, ie the parent company Amundi Asset Management, according to a pre-established exchange ratio. The operation was authorized by Bankitalia which, however, in a document dated 6 December, asked the French to provide specific updates on the integration process in the first half of 2018. In particular, via Nazionale requests "a report on the progress of the standardization initiatives and revision of procedures, with reference to what has been achieved".
