American Express will manage the credit cards of Italian customers directly from Italy. The decision was taken following Brexit and, as reported by Radiocor, will be operational from next February XNUMXst. The vehicle is a limited liability company, American Express Italia, created in September 2017 and wholly owned by American Express Services Europe Limited of London.
Since February, as a result of an extraordinary transfer of the company branch relating to the issue of credit cards, the Italian institute takes over from the London one. The creation of the Italian payment institution had been authorized by the Bank of Italy on 24 July.
