Amazon: people read more in Milan, Rome 9a

The ranking drawn up by Amazon based on the books purchased in the last year, both paper and in e-book format, says that the Lombard capital is at the top for the fourth time in a row, while the capital slips into ninth position - Padua and Venice, the South is bad – VIDEO.

Milano it is the Italian city where we read the most, followed by Padua and Venice, Rome drops to ninth place, while the South remains behind. At least this says the ranking drawn up by Amazon based on books purchased in the last year, both in paper and e-book format, through the world's busiest virtual bookstore.

The Lombard capital is at the top for the fourth consecutive time, both in terms of paper and digital formats. There list is drawn up on a per capita basis, in a city with more than 100 inhabitants, and established that Padua has conquered two positions, given that it was in fourth place in last year's ranking, and above all that Venice took its place on the podium with a leap, while in 2015 it was not even among the top ten cities.

In fourth place in the standings is Trieste (second in 2015), followed by Trento (which drops from third to fifth place). Bologna remains in sixth, Bergamo passes from tenth to eighth, Florence loses one position and is in seventh, as is Rome, while Vicenza is for the first time among the ten cities where we read the most. The opposite happens in Cagliari, which slips from fifth position last year to eighteenth. It's worse in the South. Suffice it to say that Salerno is in 36th position, followed by the major cities of the South. From Naples, to Bari, up to Taranto, Syracuse and Messina. Palermo is only in 42nd place, Catania is in 44th and Reggio Calabria in 47th.
