Amazon: 1.700 hires in Italy in 2018, that's where

Amazon Plans to Grow Permanent Employee Number from 3.500 to Over 5.200 by Year's End – Over $2010 Billion Invested Since 1,6

Amazon's gaze remains fixed on Italy. The global e-commerce giant has decided to expand even further in our country, hiring 1.700 people in 2018 alone, all with permanent contracts. In total, at the end of the current year there will be over 5.200 Amazon employees in Italy compared to 3.500 employees at the end of 207.

In short, the group led by Jeff Bezos continues to focus on Italy in order to develop its activities. From 2010 to date, the company has invested more than 1,6 billion euros.

As read in a statement, the new job opportunities are aimed at people with all types of experience, education and skill levels, from engineers and software developers to warehouse operators, and many of the positions will be open in the new distribution centers launched in 2017 in Passo Corese (Rieti) and in Vercelli, in the already existing Amazon distribution center in Castel San Giovanni (Piacenza), in the customer service in Cagliari, in the development center in Turin and in the new headquarters in Milan, which will host over 600 permanent employees by the end of the year.

“We are committed to investing in Italy to continuously improve the services we offer to our customers and to bring innovation throughout Europe and Italy through research and development, particularly in the fields of machine learning and robotics,” said Mariangela Marseglia, country manager for Amazon Italy and Amazon Spain.
