Quirinale, amateurs in jeopardy: the right has already burned 5 candidates

There are already five candidates for the Presidency of the Republic burned by the ineffable Salvini-Meloni couple during the first days of the battle for the renewal of the Head of State. Initially it was the trio of candidates launched by Salvini, Meloni and Tajani who paid the price, complete with a public press conference, namely Marcello Pera, Letizia Moratti and Carlo Nordio. Their candidacies lasted less than half a day and were never submitted to a vote in the House of Parliament.

Then Matteo Salvini and the right went so far as to burn the second state office, the president of the Senate, Maria Elisabetta Alberti Casellati who in the fifth ballot did not even collect all the votes of the centre-right and was pierced by 71 snipers, settling on the unedifying level of only 382 consensus, a thousand miles away from quorum of 505 votes necessary to be elected to the Presidency of the Republic.

The latest victim of the indecorous conduct of the right was the very good Elisabetta Belloni, former Secretary General of the Farnesina and today head of the secret services, inopportunely thrown into the fray by Salvini and Meloni with the support of Giuseppe Conte without the knowledge of the interested party: an operation that raised the protests of the Grillo Foreign Minister, Luigi Di Maio, as well as middle Pd, of Italia Viva, of Forza Italia and Leu.

To say that the strange Meloni-Salvini couple is one amateur couple in jeopardy, naturally in the good company of Giuseppe Conti and others, it is an understatement and the ever-widening vote in favour a Mattarella bis it is clear testimony to the leadership crisis of the right, even if this is obviously not enough to promote the left.
