Just on the days when schools reopen their doors, the National Registry forschool-work, a (virtual) meeting point between young people attending the final three-year period of a technical institute and a high school and Italian companies willing to offer them a period of direct learning on the job.

Il portal, created by the Chambers of Commerce system and managed by InfoCamere, is a decisive element for the full success of one of the main aspects of the reform introduced with "The good school”, or rather the systematic introduction of compulsory alternation courses in high schools and the recognition of the value of learning by working. According to the reform, every year at least 200 hours for high schools and 400 hours for technical institutes must be carried out in a working context.

"The keeping of the National Register for alternating school and work is one of the new functions that the decree attributes to the Chambers of Commerce", underlines the president of Unioncamere, Ivan Lo Bello. “The issue of orientation and alternation has long been dear to the chamber system. Now, thanks to the Internet, this will be really handy, simple, transparent and at no cost”.

In the open and freely available area of ​​the Registercompanies, public and private bodies, associations and professionals who want to invest in the educational and professional development of young people can register free of charge, making alternation courses available at their own structures. For each company, institution or professional, the Register reports the maximum number of students that can be hosted, the periods of the year in which it is possible to carry out the alternation activity and the alternation paths offered.

The new portal will also take care of the school-work alternation to be carried out under the apprenticeship scheme. In agreement with the Ministry of Labor and the Ministry of Education, in fact, in the open and consultable area of ​​the National Register for school-work alternation, companies will also be able to indicate their willingness to host apprenticeship students ( first level), intended for young people aged 15 to 25 who intend to acquire a professional qualification or diploma, a secondary school diploma or a higher technical specialization certificate.
