AltaRoma equals high fashion. The Capitoline kermesse dedicated to high-end fashion opens tomorrow, unleashing a carnet of fashion shows and events from historic houses but also emerging creatives. "Today more than ever there is a desire to rediscover the roots of Made in Italy and Rome is its cradle", declared the president Silvia Venturini Fendi cutting the ribbon of the 20th edition of the event, the fourth she directed.
The program provides 18 fashion shows and a dozen events including exhibitions and vernissages. The inauguration will take place tonight with the pre-event Room Service, a preview of collections for the autumn-winter 2012-13 season which will see 13 designers working in the suites of the Gran Hotel Flora to create tailor-made garments for customers.
The brands present will all be prestigious: from Gattinoni to Renato Balestra, from Raffaella Curiel to Marta Ferri, without forgetting the glories of Roman high fashion, such as Roberto Capucci and Pino Lancetti.
