High speed, Fs halves the price increases for season tickets

Ferrovie dello Stato takes a step back on the increase in the price of high-speed season tickets. Yesterday evening the group announced that it had revised the initial cost communicated to commuters, halving the expected increase.

Therefore, the increase in the price of the most requested season ticket has been reduced to 10% (Mon-Fri, without time limits). On the other hand, the reductions in the types of passes for the 9-17 range were confirmed, which had already dropped by 15% (Mon – Fri, 9-17) and by 5% (7 days, 9-17).

Users who have already paid for subscriptions with the increased price will be refunded the difference. The revision of the price list will come into force with the March season tickets, which can be purchased from mid-February. These are the first innovations that arrived while awaiting the definitive solutions which will be adopted by June at the end of a new technical table.

The provision, explains a note from Fs, "concretes the desire to open announced yesterday by the CEO of Fs Italiane, Renato Mazzoncini, during the hearing in the Senate's Public Works Commission". The new price revisions on the AV season ticket front, shared with the Minister of Transport, Graziano Delrio, were announced yesterday afternoon by Barbara Morgante, CEO of Trenitalia, during the meeting with the Conference's Infrastructure, Mobility and Territorial Government Commission of the Regions and Autonomous Provinces, coordinated by the Vice President of the Campania Region, Fulvio Bonavitacola.

“New solutions will be needed on the question of high-speed season tickets by June: among the ideas currently on the table – explained Mazzoncini in the Commission – the possibility of including some high-speed connections during commuting hours in the service contract. At the same time, further welfare instruments for commuters could be evaluated, also on the basis of what has been successfully achieved in other European contexts".
