Alstom, Toshiba also enters: it would take over part of the energy branch from GE

After General Electric and Siemens (which however has not yet formulated an official offer), the Japanese Toshiba has also been added to the list of suitors for the French industrial giant Alstom. This was revealed by the Japanese newspaper Nikkei, according to which the inclusion of Toshiba would in any case be closely linked to the success of the GE operation, from which the Asian company would then repurchase part of the energy branch.

Of interest to Toshiba is above all the integrated distribution business, which it considers not to be particularly strategic for GE (which has offered a total of 12,35 billion to Alstom, which has been rejected for the moment) and therefore detectable at a competitive figure. For the Japanese to get their hands on that sector would instead be interesting, given that they have a turnover in the sector of around 300 billion yen (2,14 billion euros, which would triple), and that some time ago they already invested 1,7 billion to take over the Swiss Landys+Gyr.
