Alstom, Eliseo: "We have no preferences, but the offers need to be improved"

The French government "has no preference" among the various offers presented by foreign companies for the purchase of Alstom, but hopes they will be "improved". The announcement was made by the Elysee after a meeting between President François Hollande, Prime Minister Manuel Valls and Economy Minister Arnaud Montebourg.

“Today, there is an offer that is known and filed, that of General Electric, and another offer that should be confirmed in the coming days, which sees Mitsubishi associated with Siemens – recalled Paris -. We have no preference for one or the other proposal. We have needs which are employment, maintaining activities in France, energy independence. On this we measure the offers and our aim now is to ensure that the proposals are improved to respond to these objectives”.

A new meeting at the Elysée on the Alstom dossier will be held next week.
