Allianz takes 11,5% of Italo. This was reported by Radiocor, according to which the German insurance giant would have bought the stake directly from Global Infrastructure Partners (Gip), the US fund which last April acquired control of Italo for 2,5 billion euros (including debt).

Allianz therefore continues to focus on Italian infrastructures. In fact, it should be remembered that last year, together with other investors, the insurance group took over around 7% of Autostrade per l'Italia.

With the purchase of 11,5% of Italo, carried out through Allianz spa and the Luxembourg subsidiary Agf Benelux Sarl, Allianz thus becomes the second shareholder of Italo- The total shareholdings held by the other shareholders (Luca Cordero di Montezemolo, Gianni Punzo, Isabella Seragnoli, Flavio Cattaneo and Alberto Bombassei, and the Peninsula fund) stops at 7,74%.

All these subjects had reinvested in Italo last April, subscribing to a capital increase of 150 million, at the same time as the sale of 100% of the company to the Gip fund.
