Cisl alarm: 20.000 redundancies are at risk in the post office

The indiscretion was relaunched to the general council of the trade union. Furlan, Cisl general secretary: "Available for discussions but not for management"

The CISL raises the alarm. "The rumors, the real ones" on the industrial plan of Poste Italiane that the managing director Francesco Caio is preparing, indicate "17-20 thousand redundancies". This was stated by Mario Petitto, secretary of the Cisl Slp to the general council of the union which has 52% of the representation in the company.

Petitto spoke about the number of redundancies by addressing the general secretary of the Cisl, Anna Maria Furlan and asking for her help for the next battles. With regard to the privatization of the company, Petitto underlined how in the project that seems to be taking shape "the listing was canceled by this Government, by the Treasury the quotation as reasoned with the Letta Government, with employee share ownership, etc.". “We have gone back to saying – continues Petitto – that we have to sell a piece of the Post Office to raise cash”.

"If someone thinks that he can manage the change" of Poste Italiane alone, in a dirigiste way, "against the quality of work, we are forced to make him change his mind", was the response of the new general secretary Annamaria Furlan who nonetheless underlined that "as a union we must give great availability to the confrontation".
