Alitalia, Friday's strike revoked: it will take place on 6 September

The strike by Alitalia pilots and flight attendants proclaimed by Anpac, Anpav and Anp for Friday 26 July was postponed to 6 September, with a duration of 24 hours. This was decided by the acronyms of the pilots and flight attendants, in the light of the invitation of the Guarantor of strikes and the Ordinance of the Ministry of Transport which on Tuesday had already reduced the abstention to 4 hours from the midnight called by the unions.

On the other hand, the transport unions of CGIL, CISL and UIL have not changed their decisions, which they confirmed for on Friday the absence from work for air transport as announced on Tuesday at the end of the meeting with Minister Danilo Toninelli.

For this reason Alitalia already has canceled numerous flights between 10am and 14pm on Friday 26 July and invite passengers”to check the status of your flight, before going to the airport, on the alitalia.com website, by calling the toll-free number 800.65.00.55 (from Italy) or the number +39.06.65649 (from abroad), or by contacting the agency from which they purchased the ticket”.

The company has prepared an extraordinary plan, with the use of more capacious aircraft on both domestic and international routes, which will still allow 60% of passengers to travel.

The company published the notice to passengers on July 23 but has not yet updated it after the cancellation of the strike by Anpac, Anpav and Anp. As soon as it does, it will be possible to report in more detail on the progress of the flights on July 26th.

Alitalia finally recalls that from 27 July to 27 October the extraordinary closure of Milan Linate airport is expected for runway work. During this period, Alitalia passengers will be able to fly to and from the airports of Milan Malpensa and Bergamo Orio al Serio.
