Alitalia, new uniforms: from July in red and green

Alitalia changes its look. After almost twenty years, starting from July, hostesses, stewards and ground assistants will wear the new airline uniforms, designed by Ettore Bilotta and presented during Alitalia Day. The collection is inspired by the fashion of the 50s and 60s and it is rigorously made in Italy: uniforms, accessories and shoes are all produced in our country.

Alitalia uniforms have always been a standard-bearer of Made in Italy and of Italian style in the world. Over the years of the public flag carrier they made fashion and made use of famous stylists. The previous Alitalia uniforms, the blue and green ones, were made in 1998; they were signed Mondrian, a brand of the Nadini group, a clothing company in the province of Modena, which later went bankrupt.

Over the years, several important stylists have designed the uniforms for Alitalia employees, also proposing colors that are very far from the red, green and white of the company logo, including yellow and fuchsia in the 1991s. Among the stylists who have designed uniforms for Alitalia there is also Giorgio Armani, who created those of XNUMX, gray and with simple lines.

Bilotta is a haute couture designer who in 2008 also renewed the uniforms of the Italian Guardia di Finanza. His uniforms for Alitalia are characterized by dark colors. Those of the flight attendants will be red, with green accessories, while the uniforms of the ground staff are green. The previous Alitalia uniforms, blue and green, were made in 1998 and were signed by Mondrian.

The choice of the red color would recall the Italian passion, while the green symbolizes the landscapes and the riches of our territory. The fabric consists of 96% fine Italian wool and the remaining 4% elastane.

“The new look we are presenting today – said Alitalia CEO Cramer Ball – embodies the soul of the new Alitalia and it is no coincidence that this takes place during the Company's relaunch and development plan. We are about to celebrate our 70 years of history with a new collection of elegant uniforms”.

With these uniforms, continues Ball, “we intend to represent Italy's excellence in the world; a country that has always been an icon of style and elegance worldwide. With this collection we complete the renewal process of our brand and our fleet, which also involved the introduction of new important services for customers".
