Alitalia: no offer for the whole company

On the basis of what was declared by Minister Calenda, however, offers would have arrived for "a large part of the perimeter of Alitalia" - No further public interventions are foreseen - On Telecom: "No meeting scheduled with the top management".

The commissioners are evaluating the offers received for Alitalia. According to what was declared by the Minister of Economic Development, Carlo Calenda, on the sidelines of the 38th edition of the CL Meeting in Rimini, some offers would concern a large part of the company's perimeter, while others include "a more restricted perimeter". So on balance no offer has been received for all of the company's assets.

The number one of the Mise then explained once again that they will try to avoid further public interventions: “For me, the priority, in this case, is not to make the citizens take out more money”. “We are doing everything to avoid using more public money to keep the airline alive. That's exactly the goal,” she continued.

At this juncture, it should be remembered that based on the provisions of the notice of sale, there will be time until 15 September for expressions of interest in the former national airline and within 10 days of receipt, any admission to the procedure. The deadline for binding offers is set for October 2, while for the negotiation phase it will be until November 5.

It should be emphasized that for months, giants such as Iag, FS and Lufthansa have said they are not interested in buying, while at the end of June Ryanair announced that it had presented a non-binding offer.

Calenda then released some statements on Telecom, stating that he has no scheduled meeting with the top management of the TLC giant: "No, I won't meet the telecom top management soon" adding that "for the moment the ball is with the golden power committee which is carrying out all the checks. Telecom will obviously have all the space to make its counter-deductions”.

The minister specified that "we only want the rules to be respected and from this point of view we believe that Telecom should have notified its control and coordination, here it was my duty to report this thing to the competent committee".

Finally, the owner of Economic Development confirmed the intention to promote a rule aimed at avoiding “predatory investments” on Italian companies. Italy is ready with a primary law as soon as we have the European compatibility framework: we are ready to bring it to the parliament”.
