Alitalia: Delta, Fs, Tesoro and Toto in the rescue consortium

Surprisingly, the family also appears in the consortium that will unite to save Alitalia Pools. To finish the operation, Fs, Tesoro e Delta must complete the list of members by July 15th.

The US airline - according to some press rumors - would have requested a meeting for this week at the top of the Abruzzo group. Why exactly the Toto family? Simple: time is running out, the financial guarantees promised by Lotito do not arrive and Delta does not want to negotiate with German Efromovich, the first shareholder of the Colombian carrier Avianca.

The Totos' offer is the most concrete: the family holding company has put on the table the 250 million just collected with the sale of a wind farm in the US and could enrich its endowment by selling other wind farms in North America. Delta would have decided to favor the table with the Totos also thanks to their experience at Air One.

The choice of Delta seems to pave the way for the presentation of an offer within the next two weeks. The structure of the operation would remain the one already agreed: Fs and Treasury would ensure a significant share of public scrutiny, the Americans they could put up to 150 million and the rest would come from Pools.

Moreover, after the negative experience of Mercatone Uno, the government seems determined to start the operation only in the presence of a buyer who does not involve the risk of nasty surprises.
