Alitalia, Air France-KLM: possible agreement with Etihad

Among the options open to Air France-KLM is that of reopening the Alitalia dossier, if an agreement between the Italian company and Etihad leads to the achievement of the conditions set by the Franco-Dutch group.

This is the indication of the CEO of Air France-KLM, Alexandre de Juniac. “I never said that the one with Alitalia is a closed chapter. I have put some conditions on the table, if these conditions are respected we will positively return to the dossier” explained the managing director on the sidelines of the press conference on the group's accounts.

“It is about financial conditions, debt restructuring, industrial and social restructuring and cost reduction. I think our friends at Etihad have set similar conditions to ours."

If these conditions are met for the purposes of an alliance with the Arab group, Air France-KLM has “among the options that of looking at something with Etihad on Alitalia. But we haven't discussed it."
