Alibaba closed the fourth quarter of 2016/2017 with revenues of 5,61 billion dollars, an increase of 60% compared to the result of the corresponding period of the previous year. The company finished the reporting quarter with net income of $1,43 billion, or $0,6. Excluding exceptional items, earnings per share would have been $0,63.

Analyst estimates were for earnings per share of $0,65 and revenues of $5,24 billion. In addition, Alibaba's management announced the purchase of its own shares in the amount of $6 billion over a two-year period.
