Alcoa, Bentivogli (Fim-Cisl): "Term-Sheet signed, good news"

Fim Cisl general secretary Marco Bentivogli welcomes the definitive agreement signed in Rome between Alcoa and Invitalia to avoid the dismantling of the plants and allow the government agency to manage negotiations with potential investors – Bentivogli: “For us this represents a good news, also because for years we have been "hanging" on the wishes of fake potential buyers"

"The Term Sheet has been signed between Mise, Alcoa and Invitalia, which sets out the general rules, the role of Ivitalia and the start of due diligence from today within 60 days at the end of which the definitive agreement will be fixed on which to build the assignment. Today there will be a meeting between Invitalia and Sider Alloys to start the due diligence”.

This was stated in a note by the Fim Cisl general secretary Marco Bentivogli, welcoming with applause the definitive agreement signed in Rome between Alcoa and Invitalia to avoid the dismantling of the plants and allow the government agency to manage negotiations with any investors.

“For us this is good news, also because for years we have been "hanging" on the wishes of fake potential buyers. We hope that this is the constructive path that will quickly lead to the sale and that Sider Alloys or others who will present themselves, present as soon as possible an industrial and financial plan consistent with the relaunch of the plant and the safeguarding of employment. It is necessary to act quickly because the social safety nets for many employees of related industries have ended and from next month the uncovering will also concern direct employees”.
