Alberto Quadrio Curzio is the new president of the Accademia dei Lincei

It's Alberto Quadrio Curzio the new president of the Accademia dei Lincei. The Assembly of National Members has in fact elected the leaders for the next three years, who are composed as follows: President Prof. Alberto Quadrio Curzio, Vice-President Prof. Lamberto Maffei, Academic Administrator Prof. Maurizio Brunori, Academic Adjunct Administrator Prof. Pietro Rescigno.

In closing the Academy's academic year, yesterday, the outgoing president Lamberto Maffei (who remains as vice president), in front of the Head of State Sergio Mattarella, underlined: "The shameless corruption, dishonesty, lack of solidarity are offending , the growing dominance of the religion of the golden calf, in which money and possessions become the main aspiration of the citizen”. He also offends, he added, "the cynicism with which the inequality between rich and poor is allowed to increase".

Alberto Quadrio Curzio, economist, is already president of the Class of Moral, Historical and Philological Sciences and vice president of the Accademia Nazionale dei Lincei. He is professor emeritus of Political Economy at the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart of Milan where he was dean of the faculty of Political Sciences from 1989 to 2010 as well as founder and director of the Center for Research in Economic Analysis and International Economic Development (CRANEC) since 1977 (currently President of the Scientific Committee).
