The project was presented today in Milan Power U Digital, the Human Age Institute Foundation's response ManpowerGroup – in collaboration with Deloitte e Intesa Sanpaolo, with the patronage of Confindustria Digitale and in the presence of the Ministry of Education represented by Oscar Pasquali, Head of the Technical Secretariat of the MIUR - to the current situation of the labor market and skill shortage: the objective is, in fact, to develop, at European level, the digital culture and training of young people, in order to facilitate their entry into the world of work.

The initiative's partners have confirmed their willingness to work together with the institutions for the necessary updating of today's young people who find themselves having to face a constantly evolving job market. “With the PowerU Digital project we aim to support the new generations in understanding the global labor scenario – he says Stephen Scabbio, President for the Mediterranean Area and Eastern Europe of ManpowerGroup - and develop the "core" skills of 2020 in young people together with digital ones and give a concrete opportunity to spend them in the world of work. The goal is to get to 6 million of young people in the next 3 years.”

Intesa Sanpaolo and Deloitte will be the first to commit themselves to concretely supporting young people as they enter the world of work with a view to reverse mentoring.

“There are several reasons for appreciation for the PowerU Digital project that have convinced us to support it” – he declares Victor Meloni, Intesa Sanpaolo External Relations Director – “It combines three elements – young people, training and digital – the combination of which represents the sense of the Bank's daily commitment to innovation. Making available to young people a platform where they can acquire digital and "soft" skills means offering them the opportunity to improve and compete with European talents. This programme, also intended for those who will manage businesses in the next few years, constitutes an enabling lever for the entire system. At the same time, it can help create an extraordinary pool of people prepared for the challenges of life and work on which to draw. Our support is part of the framework of activities that the Bank carries out in terms of training with an organic and structured plan of initiatives aimed at young people, businesses, customers and employees in collaboration with the most qualified institutions and academies".

“Companies are faced with the challenge and the opportunity to approach the world of young talent and schools and to guarantee continuous training in the professional field, in particular by acting on opportunities for contact with the schools themselves, on strengthening partnerships with of research and continuous training programs in the company,” he says Andrew Poggi, Strategy and Innovation Leader Deloitte. "In this sense, the initiative we are launching today immediately and concretely implements an effective response: thanks to this project, in fact, Deloitte and Manpower are able to help the business and school system to fully grasp this challenge by putting experience in the field of innovation and training is available to reward transversal skills. This with the aim of bringing universities and the world of work closer together and making an effective contribution to the evolution and growth of the Italian economic and social fabric”.

The initiative in particular is aimed at training and certifying the digital skills of the talents of the main European schools and universities starting from the countries: Italy, Spain, Portugal, Israel, Austria, Switzerland, Greece, Turkey, Bulgaria, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Hungary. The pillars on which PowerU Digital rests are: Portal: rich in e-learning content in English, it will allow young students to learn by training and learning the 8 key skills outlined by the European Commission to integrate school training with the skills required by the job.
