At the cinema for 2 euros: from today in 3.000 cinemas

Every second Wednesday of the month you go to the cinema with 2 euros. This is the offer provided by Cinema2day, an initiative promoted by the Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities together with Anec, Anem and Anica. Today, Wednesday 14 September, is the first day to try out this novelty.

There are currently over 3 participating cinemas throughout Italy: the complete list is available on the website www.cinema2day.it and is constantly updated. “Cinema2day is an initiative to bring people closer to the magic of cinemas”, says Minister Franceschini.

“We adhere convinced and confident that this promotion can help many young people rediscover the pleasure of seeing films in theatres, using the price lever to overcome the obstacle”, underlines the president of Anica distributors, Andrea Occhipinti.

For Carlo Bernaschi, president of Anem, the National Association of Multiplex Operators, the initiative "is already achieving great success as many people who have listened to the messages on the radio, TV and web are asking for confirmation of the initiative and many have already booked and bought tickets, especially for children's films”.

According to Luigi Cuciniello, president of Anec – National Association of Cinema Operators, “it is an important and useful test for evaluating a proposal which for us has the main objective of bringing back to cinemas the public which, for many reasons, no longer attends them”.

As for the films to see, "L'estate addosso" is coming out today. Director Gabriele Muccino has decided to bring forward the release of his new comedy by one day to support Cinema2Day, unlike Walt Disney who instead preferred to postpone the «premiere» of the world blockbuster cartoon “Finding Dory” to Thursday ”.
