The sky looks increasingly clear for Airbus planes. In fact, the European manufacturer has revised upwards its estimate of the aeronautical market over the next 20 years: an expected turnover of around 3.500 billion dollars, due in particular to the continuous and exponential growth of the Asian market.
According to the Airbus press release, to date more than 11 aircraft have already been commissioned by the various airlines, to reach, according to the estimate, almost 30 by 2030, for a total of 3.500 billion dollars.
The booming aeronautical market has produced results: Airbus, in fact, has already manufactured 2 more aircraft than the last forecast of 2010, for the period 2010-2029. Of the almost 30 vehicles expected by 2030, around 27 will be used for passenger traffic, while a thousand for freight transport. Therefore, based on an annual growth of 4,8%, Airbus is confident of doubling the world fleet by 2030 (it now has around 15).
Much of the credit for this growth will go to the Asia-Pacific area. Airbus always explains it: “Between today and 2030, 60% of the world population, i.e. around 5 billion people, will be urbanized and the number of metropolises will have more than doubled, reaching 87 from the current 39. We believe that over 90% of long-haul passengers will move between these metropolises. Asia-Pacific will be the driving force behind this boom, accounting for 34% of total traffic“. Behind will be Europe and North America, with 22% each.
Airubus has announced that it is also reviewing upwards the production of large-capacity aircraft (over 400 passengers), such as the A380: the segment should grow by 6%, for a value of 600 billion dollars.
